An Introduction to Meteorites for Geologists 

Brought to you by Texas Meteorite Lab and Blackbeard Data. This one day
course will bring you up to speed on meteorites, their history, idendification,
parent bodies, and how they can be recovered.



Course Description:


This one-day workshop covers most aspects of the meteorite world.

The workshop progresses through history, explains concepts

of the meteoritic world, teaches identification, and culminates

on the geological origins of the parent bodies.



Topics covered:


1. History of Meteorites

2. How to identify meteorites

3. Hands on Lab

4. How to Find Meteorites. The 4 methods of meteorite recovery.

5. Geology of Meteorites

6. Asteroids and How we study them


Bonus Materials - All attendees will receive a copy of "Rocks from Space" and
 a sample of a meteorite to take with them.

Individuals may transfer their registration to another individual for
this event at no additional charge at any time.
Transfers to another BBD event may be made for $25 if made prior
to the deadline shown below. After that date, no transfers will be
accepted.


Registrations may be cancelled for a refund, less a $25 administration
fee, if made prior to September 16, 2010.
After that date, no refunds will be granted. Registrants not
entitled to a refund will receive a copy of the written materials.
